  2. I think the issue is communication. The teaching system neglects the fact that every student has so much potential to exceed educationally. The problem is the process of succeeding differs for every individual. As we know some student are more artistic and need visuals to learn and others are more content and writing based learners. So that would be the problem that leads to students failing in the dominant model of education…the lack of personalized learning plans.

    How do you feel about individualized learning plans within education?... good idea? Bad Idea?

    I agree with both comments, some students do well while some do not. The curriculum we are taught, the time of day, our lack of autonomy: none of these things are coincidence! As an Anthro major, I wonder why I was never taught any sort of cultural studies outside of European cultures...

  4. Yes, I see what you mean. I like the idea of autonomy Sam. The banking method assumes that students have little to bring to the table, though there are some teachers that challenge this to the extent they can. I like the ideas of personalized learning plans. It does take alot of work on the part of educators and students, it's much easier to do the same thing, but I think the results justify the time & energy.
